Engine Ground Run (EGR) Course
The Engine Ground Run (EGR) course is designed to equip licensed aircraft maintenance professionals with the knowledge and hands-on skills necessary to conduct safe and effective engine ground operations. Delivered by experienced instructors, the course focuses on real-world procedures and safety protocols essential to engine testing.
Utilizing a blended learning approach, the program combines instructor-led sessions with self-paced e-learning modules. This allows participants to build foundational theoretical knowledge before or alongside classroom-based instruction. The course includes detailed reviews of both normal and abnormal aircraft and engine system procedures.
Participants gain practical experience through instructor-guided engine test sessions, simulating realistic scenarios to reinforce key operational steps. The course is specifically tailored for licensed mechanics and maintenance engineers certified on the relevant aircraft or engine type.
Upon successful completion of both the theoretical and practical components, participants receive a Certificate of Completion. By the end of the course, they will be able to identify and utilize engine test reference materials, understand engine limitations and critical systems, prepare aircraft for ground runs, perform complete cockpit and safety checks, and start engines using various methods (Normal/Auto, Manual, X-Bleed, Dry/Wet Motoring).
Additionally, trainees will conduct APU fire tests, apply external power, perform key engine system checks (such as minimum oil pressure and power assurance), and respond appropriately to emergency situations including engine or APU fires and shutdown procedures.
The course assessment is twofold: theoretical knowledge is evaluated continuously through quizzes, polls, and interactive e-learning activities, while the final hands-on skills are assessed during practical evaluations under instructor supervision.
Borescope Inspection Course
The Borescope Inspection Course is specifically designed for aircraft maintenance engineers who have completed type training on the relevant aircraft and engine. This instructor-led training equips participants with the knowledge and practical skills required to perform precise and compliant borescope inspections on specific engine types.
Through a combination of in-depth theoretical instruction and hands-on practice, the course delivers a solid foundation in borescope inspection methodology. Participants will become familiar with the internal construction of the specified engine type and learn how to properly prepare the engine for inspection, execute the inspection itself, and correctly reinstate the engine afterward.
Upon successful completion of all theoretical and practical elements, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion, recognizing their readiness to perform borescope inspections in line with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
